The Snarry Games

The Snarry Games is in its last stretch, folks, and I can tell you I will be sad when I can no longer wake up to a guaranteed twice-daily Snarry fix. There is so little of it out there that these Games have been (and always will be) a delicious oasis; especially when so many gifted writers and artists resisted the easy option (unlike me) and chose prompts that stretched our imaginations into ever more diverse directions. Cross-dressing, gender bending and crossovers have all been marginal themes until now. And yet we have learnt they can all look, read, and feel like Snarry when real talent gets their hands on it. Who would have thought Harry racing cars, trailing after Sherlock Holmes in Victorian London, or taking on Ginny's dead body would have worked as Snarry victuals? And yet they do, and beautifully.

This year's Games has taught me that in fandom, nothing is fixed, nothing trammelled, and that there is nothing like Snarry.

So come on, everyone, let us all wave and applaud the Games through the finishing line and have fun saying goodbye to them in the week before the judges make their ruling. Be a part of it by ensuring your vote gets in by 27th September and commenting furiously; be there, cheering, when the Teams offer up their fun and frolics during the Closing Games; become a part of this wonderful community.

The Snarry Games has given us all an opportunity to unleash our imaginations and satisfy our yearning for wonderful writing and art, so let us all show how much we appreciate such a gift. That way, we all can help in keeping Snarry active.
